Oct 1 Roadster window. Teaser is ~10 years old. Design language has moved — Cybertruck talk is part of the conversation.
Thursday, October 1, Tesla is set to show the new Roadster.
The design most people still picture is almost 10 years old. Since that teaser era, Tesla's design language has already moved — the Cybertruck years are the clearest proof. The open question is not whether the Roadster will be absurdly fast. It is what the production car will actually look like when the covers come off.
Speed is the easy part of this narrative. Performance claims around the Roadster have been extreme for years, including SpaceX-style boost talk in the community rumor mill. That part of the conversation is already priced into the mythos.
What has not been locked is the production design. A lot of people think the car may take on more of that Cybertruck language — sharper planes, less sports-car conventional, more industrial. That is still speculation until Oct 1. The teaser everyone remembers is not the current Tesla design book.
Elon has said people might love it or hate it. That is not a side note on this car — it is part of how the Roadster conversation actually works. Polarizing design is the bet. The reveal is where that bet gets a real image, not another rumor cycle.
This is marque/news tape, not a US exotic retail-board median story. There is no asking-price chart to freeze here. The print that matters is the design language Tesla puts on stage.
