Ferrari 458 Italias and Spiders soft after a big year

After a big year, 458 coupe asks are down about 7% this week and Spiders just over 9%. With ~20k built, not exactly rare. Where do they bottom out?

Ferrari 458 Italias and Spiders had a huge run this year. This week the asking-price tape cooled off.

This take covers 458 Italia coupes and 458 Spider open cars only. It does not include Speciale or Speciale Aperta.

This week's print

On DBo's Car Trends desk numbers (Sep 30 to Oct 7, US/Canada retail asks):

  • Italia (coupe): middle ask about $435,000 → $401,000 — down about 7–8% (the Reel rounds this to about seven percent)
  • Spider: middle ask about $549,000 → $499,000 — down just over nine percent
  • More cars showed up in both buckets over the week, so mix can move the median — still, both sides printed softer

Why it matters

Around 20,000 458s were built. That is a lot of cars for a modern mid-engine Ferrari. After a strong run into 2026, a soft week on both coupe and Spider asks raises the obvious question: is the run finally cooling, and where do buyers think prices bottom out?

This is asking-price tape, not sold prices. A lower ask means dealers are moving the number. It does not mean the last sale already cleared there.
