Ferrari's Own Daytona SP3 Press Car Heads to RM Sotheby's London, Estimated at $10M–$13M

Ferrari's 2022 Daytona SP3 factory press car goes to RM Sotheby's London on Oct 31 with a pre-sale estimate of £7.5M–£9.5M (about $10M–$13M), roughly five times its reported $2.2M launch price.

The car is a 2022 Ferrari Daytona SP3, built in June 2022 and specified by Ferrari itself. It's finished in Giallo Triplo Strato over Rosso Ferrari leather and has 2,948 miles. In 2022 it served as Ferrari's factory press car, and outlets including Car and Driver, Road & Track, Motor Sport, Robb Report and BBC Top Gear reviewed it. It has had one private owner since March 2025. RM Sotheby's offers it at its London sale on Oct 31, 2026, estimated at £7.5M–£9.5M (about $10M–$13M). That's a pre-sale estimate, not a bid. Launch pricing was reported at about $2.2M.

RM points to recent SP3 results to support the number. A yellow SP3 with 227 miles sold at Monterey 2026 for $17.825M, and the one-off charity "Tailor Made" SP3 brought $26M in 2025. RM's Harvey Stanley also says collectors believe owning an SP3 helps when Ferrari allocates the next Icona, the SP4. That's his claim; Ferrari hasn't said so. This car has far more miles than the Monterey car, but its famous press history and factory specification give it a provenance few SP3s can match.

What it means

A naturally aspirated V12 limited-series Ferrari, not a hybrid, with this documented history is a test of how far provenance can carry a car with real mileage. The Oct 31 hammer price will show whether SP3 values are holding near five to six times launch price, or whether Monterey was the peak. We'll follow up with the result.
