McLaren's Next Supercar? Michigan Spy Shots Point to P34 or a Hardcore Artura LT

Michigan spy shots of a camouflaged McLaren point to either the rumored P34 hybrid coupe or a track-focused Artura LT. Here's what that means for Artura prices.

An early McLaren test car has been spotted testing in Michigan. At a glance it looks like a lightly modified Artura, with the same sculpted side intakes and louvres plus a fixed rear spoiler and a large diffuser. McLaren is reportedly developing a successor to the Artura, expected to replace it by 2028. Reports name it the P34, with a twin-turbo V6 hybrid making about 810 hp and 800 lb-ft and a starting price around $313,000. McLaren hasn't confirmed any of this, and The Supercar Blog notes it isn't clear the car is actually the P34. Full coverage and the credited spy photos: McLaren spy shots in Michigan.

The other possibility is a more track-focused Artura LT. McLaren may build one as a send-off before the Artura is phased out. Longtail ("LT") McLarens have historically been lighter, sharper, limited runs, so a camouflaged Artura-based car testing hard fits that pattern as much as it fits an all-new model.

For current Artura owners and shoppers, the direction is what matters, not the exact name. A replacement promising roughly 810 hp could make today's Artura look like the outgoing car, which usually pressures used values once a successor is official. An Artura LT would point the other way: a limited final edition tends to hold value best, and it can make well-kept standard cars look like the "last of" the first generation. Until McLaren confirms which car this is, we'd expect Artura pricing to follow the broader market more than these photos.
