The SLS AMG Coupe is the original gullwing SLS, the first Mercedes-Benz designed and built from scratch entirely by AMG and a modern revival of the 300SL Gullwing. It made its debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. Its gullwing doors swing up on gas struts and are closed by hand, because AMG chose not to add the 41 kg (90 lb) an auto-closing system would have weighed. Power comes from a front mid-mounted 6.2-litre naturally aspirated V8, the M159, rated at 563 hp; AMG claimed 0 to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 196 mph. US sales began in mid-2011, and the later SLS AMG GT raised output to 583 hp. 2,734 SLS AMGs were sold in the US across both body styles.

Live bids and estimates are shown as each auction house publishes them, in its own currency; a live bid is not a final price. International lots keep their own currency and are never compared with US prices. Results are public auction outcomes (for cars that did not sell, Price is the high bid) and are separate from the asking prices on this page.
