An 8-mile Ford GT Heritage sold for $2.1 million. A 554-mile one was bid to $1.4 million and didn't sell. Here's the math, and the asterisk.
What are 546 miles worth on a Ford GT? Apparently about $700K.

Two 2006 Ford GT Heritage Editions, both in the Gulf-style blue and orange, both on Bring a Trailer. The 8-mile, one-owner car sold for $2,101,000 on Aug 4, 2026. The 554-mile car closed on Oct 19, 2026 with a high bid of $1,400,000.
That $1.4 million was the top bid, not a sale. It didn't meet the seller's reserve, so the 554-mile car is still unsold, and the real gap is whatever it ends up going for. Both numbers are BaT winning bids before the buyer's fee, so they're like for like.
The 8-mile car also had a lot going for it besides miles. Two bidders pushed that auction about two hours past its scheduled end, and the same car had been listed by a dealer at $1.65 million in May without selling. Other 2026 results are messier: a 3,000-mile Heritage sold for $1,261,000 on Oct 1, and 156- and 197-mile cars brought about $1.3 million at Mecum earlier this year.
So yes, a few hundred miles matter a lot at the very top. But the $700K is part miles and part two people who really, really wanted the same car.
As of Oct 19, 2026, the middle asking price for the 26 first-generation Ford GTs we track at US dealers is about $785,000, and the only listed Heritage Edition is a 6,227-mile car asking $1,125,000. Those are asking prices, not sales. More on the Ford GT Gen 1 price page.
