About the 296 GTB
The 296 GTB brought something new to Ferrari: a six-cylinder engine in a car wearing the Ferrari badge. Unveiled on 24 June 2021 and on sale from 2022, it is the first stock Ferrari with six cylinders outside of the Dino models, which were sold under the separate Dino name. Its plug-in hybrid system pairs a 3.0-litre twin-turbo 120-degree V6, making 663 PS at 8,000 rpm, with an electric motor for a combined 830 PS. The name follows the original Dino scheme: 2.9 litres and six cylinders. Rear-wheel drive and a compact layout keep it agile, and a power-to-weight ratio of 560 hp per tonne makes it seriously quick. A 296 GT3 race car followed and has won major endurance races. The 296 GTB proves that a smaller hybrid engine can deliver real Ferrari excitement, and it is an important model for the brand's future.
